Machinist Training Program
In the Machinist Training Program students acquire and master the skills required for entry-level Machinist positions in the manufacturing and construction industries, upon their successful graduation from the training program. The Machinist Training Program is designed to provide the trainee with the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Machining Level I knowledge and skills required for positions as a Machinist and is comprised of eight hour lessons conducted weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM over a seven week period in classroom and machine shop settings located at the CLC, Inc., Berry Street facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
All students learn the basics in:
- Precisions Measurements
- Manufacturing Mathematics
- Engineering Drawing
- Conventional Machining Operations
- Open Set up Techniques
- Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Programming Codes
The projected growth rate for Machinists is 17.4%, with an average of 290 openings projected each year for the region due to growth and replacement.
Successful completion of the Machinist Training Program requires passing the skills-based end-of-course practical assessment given at the end of the program.
