Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program (AMTP)

The Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program (AMTP) provides classroom and hands-on, shop floor training for aerospace assemblers and composite bonders. During the course of the training program, students learn the basics of Safety, Precision Measurements, Drilling/Reaming/Countersinking, Reading Engineering Drawings, Electrical Bonding and Composites.  Through the coordinated efforts of Lockheed Martin Aero, Bell Helicopter/TEXTRON, Vought Aircraft Industries, CLC, Inc. and other AMTP Consortium partners have developed a customized technical training curriculum in structural aircraft assembly and composite bonding. This curriculum is enhanced on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of aerospace and related industries.

The Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program is comprised of eight-hour lessons conducted weekdays from 7:00 AM to 3:45 PM over a six-week period in classroom and shop floor settings located at either the Fort Worth Opportunity Center or Berry Street facility in Fort Worth, Texas.

The projected growth rate for Assemblers and Fabricators in the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex is 15.2% with an average of 220 openings in the Aircraft Assembly and 425 openings in Composite Bonding projected each year for the region due to growth and replacement.

Successful completion of the Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program (AMTP) requires passing the skills-based end-of-course practical assessment given at the end of the program.
