Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program (AMTP)

The Method

The CLC, Inc.Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program (AMTP) will provide training and employment to incumbent, dislocated, and youth 18 years and older who are determined to be eligible for such services by Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County in accordance with requirements as set forth in relevant federal statutes and regulations.  In addition, Program Participants must demonstrate they possess 8th-grade reading and math skills as determined by their scores on the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and is preferred to have some prior work experience in manufacturing jobs and/or prior training in skills areas related to holding such jobs.

 The CLC, Inc.'s Aerospace Manufacturing Training Program (AMTP) will address the immediate and increasing need for production workers with high technology skills in companies within the aerospace and other advanced manufacturing industry sectors. 

The Program will make use of an award-winning industry-led community consortium approach using the AMTP training curriculum. 

CLC, Inc.will recruit incumbent, dislocated, and youth 18 years and older in structural aircraft assembly, composite bonding, and/or other high-demand production skills and then placing and retaining these workers in high-wage, high-benefit jobs with aerospace and other advanced manufacturing companies. 

The AMTP program includes Manufacturing Skills Standard Council (MSSC) certifications.

The Technical Training

Through the coordinated efforts of Lockheed Martin Aero, Bell Helicopter/TEXTRON, Vought Aircraft Industries, CLC, Inc. and other AMTP Consortium partners have:

  • Developed customized technical training curriculum in structural aircraft assembly and composite bonding. This curriculum is enhanced on an ongoing basis to meet the needs of aerospace and related industries.
  • Provided dislocated, and youth 18 years and older with training in Structural Aircraft Assembly and Composite Bonding in a classroom and hands-on setting.

  • Allows maximum flexibility in identifying and addressing specific workforce development needs within aerospace, and related industries.

  • Provides feedback to ensure that workforce development needs within aerospace, and related industries are being addressed and met.
