CLC, Inc. Awarded $300,000 Grant from Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) to Assist Persian Gulf War and oif/oef Veterans and their Family Members Find Employment.

CLC, Inc., a private, non-profit organization, has been awarded $300,000 from the Texas Workforce Commission to assist Persian Gulf War veterans, their spouses, and eligible children, find meaningful employment in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. The program will also offer technical skills training to qualified participants in such industries as welding, machining, composite bonding, production and logistics.  In addition, participants may receive academic remediation, resume’ assistance, interview skills training, and job placement and career advancement assistance.  Funds from this program were provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
Special priority will be given to identifying, assessing, and enrolling into the program: 1) Persian Gulf War veterans, inclusive of veterans from Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom and; 2) Family members of veterans, to include a spouse, or a dependent child of an eligible Persian Gulf War veteran.  Anyone in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex interested in applying for this program, or becoming a community partner, please call 1-800-733-0361.
